Can anyone help I am trying to trace a birth or marriage for Marjorie M Sanderson born Thornaby 1905/6. The marriage would have taken place in Thornaby or possibly Middlesbrough. I have details of her on the 1911 census but cannot trace an exact birth or anything else for her.

Is Barnsley district wide of the mark?

There is a Marjorie born there in Mar 1906  :-\

Have you found a marriage for her parents, using the information from the 1911 census?

I can't find her in 1911  - is she a daughter?  Could she have been adopted and have a different "birth" name.

There's a Marjorie M marriage in Halifax Sep 1922 - spouse Walter Copley although likely death for her gives a birth year of 1899 so  :(

Chempot yes that's the family 1901.  In 1911 census her name is spelt Margery. I have traced all the information regarding the parents and brothers and sisters but can't find anything for Marjorie other than she was still living in 1957 when her mother died as she is mentioned in the death notice as daughter Madge.  Baptism records list all the siblings but not Marjorie. Its a real mystery.

So living unmarried in 1957, in this country, or possibly elsewhere, and called Madge?

Not sure whether she was married at that time as the mother's death notice only has the daughters Christian names but no surnames or mention of sons in law and I have marriage details for the sisters.  I have tried finding a death for Marjorie as being unmarried but again have drawn a blank.  I am running out of ideas of where to search. Do you know if the St Catherines index would help.
