Gravesend Liberal Club War Memorial Tablet
« on: Friday 30 September 16 18:53 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have a photo or know the names that appeared on the Gravesend Liberal Club War Memorial?  The club was at 7-8 The Overcliffe, Gravesend but the tablet went missing before the building was pulled down.  Apparently there were 6 names on it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
K8T

All I could find was an old Great War Forum thread (2003) stating that it was lost. The originator is a director of the Gravesham War Memorials Trust. Have you tried contacting the trust?

Other than that, it may have got coverage in the local newspapers, or the Club's records may be buried in an archive somewhere.

Local papers is a good idea, I have found the names from several lost memorials in my area through them.

Hi K8T...It may have been put into storage by the local council in Gravesend.

I don't suppose it's of any significance but I have this:

Thank you Carol, Phil and Newburychap for your suggestions.  The local council are unaware that it is in storage and we have looked in local papers.    The local History Society who have stored some items do not know where it is.  A bit of a mystery really.
I appreciate your ideas.
Many thanks
