Could I please have a look up for James MacCartney living in Kyle District, Ayrshire? He was born in Renfrewshire in November 1828. Looking for his details and whom he was residing with in 1851.

Hi waiteohman,

It is covered by FreeCen, go to http://www.freecen.org.uk/cgi/search.pl and enter surname as mccartney and forename as james, fill in nothing else, should get 2 results after pressing "Find", your one is first. If you are still having problems, let me know.
