Timms family from Silverstone, Towcester
« on: Friday 07 October 16 23:46 BST (UK) »
Hi,
It is 100 years today since my Great Uncle John Henry Timms was killed at Flanders, when he was aged 18 years (legally 17 years) on the 7th October, 1916.   He was the youngest son of William & Annie Timms who at the time lived at 4 Paradise Row, Silverstone.   We live in Australia, John's eldest sister (my Grandmother) migrated to Australia in 1911 and we are still finding more history on the family back in England.

The one thing we would love to find, is a photograph of John Henry Timms.   We know that there is a memorial in Silverstone, which includes John thereon.

John Timms' parents died in the 1930's, and we do not know what happened to other members of the family, after this, as my Grandmother died at the end of the 2nd World War, 1945.

We wondered if there were any Timms family members still living around the area, that maybe have a photograph of him.   We do know that his older sisters Florence married a Williams, they lived at Silverstone in the early 1900's, and another older sister Lilian who married a Summers.

Thanking you for anyone that could assist me.

Thank you Keyboard 86, I had most of that information, now to find if there are any family members around the area still.   Hopefully someone may have a contact somewhere along the line.
Regards
Jan

Hi again, guessed that you possibly had most of it!

At present there are 15 individuals with the surname Timms living in Towcester, taken from the Electoral Register 2002-2014

Wow, so we would also be looking for two descendants  H.J. & C . Summers, being within the age bracket, their mother Lilian Summers (nee Timms)  b. 1896 was living at 20 Kingsley Road
also Williams, they also were living in Kingsley Road Silverstone for some years up until  around 1968.

What website do you use for access to the electoral register for 2002-20014

As well, I probably need access to a telephone book myself, is there a special website for that?

Hi again,
Their were only 2 sons in the family of 10, my Grandmother was very close to her brother William Thomas Timms b. 1887 who married in 1908 to Ellen Bateman, and they had sons George William b 1908 and James Henry b.1911, plus a daughter, they would have all passed on by now.   But they most likely had children, maybe some Timms descendants still living in Towcester area.
