William Harris married Jane Barkla 1828 in St. Agnes
« on: Saturday 08 October 16 04:43 BST (UK) »
William Harris, otp, bachelor, married Jane Barkla, otp, spinster, Feb 12, 1828 in St. Agnes

I am trying to determine who was Jane Barkla's parents.

1) I have found this family in all the relevant census.
2) Her mother might possibly appear with her in the 1841 census.
3) I have already checked the St. Agnes baptism records for Jane Barkla.
4) I have no interest in William Harris or their children.

I note a number of family trees suggest the following:

Jane Bartle       20 Sep 1801   Gwinear, Cornwall   William, Anne (Hockin)?

William Barkle   Married 1796   Gwinear, Cornwall   Ann Hocken

However if that was Jane’s mother Mary Barkle on the 1841 census, the following might be possible?
Jane Barber   20 Apr 1800   Saint Agnes Near Truro,Cornwall   Peter, Mary

Their marriage was transcribed as Peter Barbary to Mary Penhall, 5 Oct 1795 Kenwyn, Cornwall.

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Problems:

1) The census shows her being born in St. Agnes, not Gwinear.
2) I have checked the original baptism image and it definitely says "Jane Barber", and not "Jane Barkla".

Thanks.  That baptism seems to match - COMPLETED.

I now have:

Jenifer [Jane] Barkla baptised Dec 26, 1794 in St. Agnes to John and Mary
John Barkla married Mary Letcher, Sept 26, 1784 in St. Agnes
Mary Letcher was born 1763 and died 1846 aged 84.
