Can't find herbert in 1881, but Minnie is a servant in Aston.

There's a marriage of a Minnie Smith in Deritend, Warwickshire in 1912 - Ancestry have her as b 1855, but imahe shows her age as 51, so born c1861. Father William Henry Fox bricklayer, deceased. It says she's widowed. Spouse is George Humphries Blewer. Witnesses William George Blewer and Annie Maria Darby

Have found her on 1911, and following back, this is her on 1901  in Winchester

Minnie Smith    39 - b Bristol, married
William P Smith    12 - b Portsmouth
Minnie E Smith    7 - b Winchester
Ethel M Smith    2 - b Winchester
Thomas J Smith    3/12 - b Winchester

RG13, 1081, 126, 23

I;ve found a possible Minnie Smith b Weymouth as a single servant in Portsmouth on 1891

Gertrude married Frank Charles Legg 1907 and has Louise  with her as a 13 year old niece, so suspect she was her daughter.

Hi all, goodness me, you have been busy. Thank you.  :) I think I need to write all this down into my family story and try to get a picture of William Henry's travels in my head. He has me rather confused at the moment.  :D  He is definitely a challenge.

So we now have Amy Fox marrying Robert Thompson in 1887. that explains why I can't find her death. it also possibly scratches out the idea That Amy was actually Elizabeth Martha. Gertrude would presumably have been the baby that Amy was left with when William Henry went off to Maesteg. I suppose the big question here is, were they ever divorced?

William Henry died at Buxton Cottage, Abermaw aged 77 according to a death notice I discovered, so that would make his death 1900 at the earliest.

William Henry is without a doubt a very interesting man Jomot
