I'm wondering if any has access to the full record of this marriage.

Henry SMALES and Ann SURTEES.
27 Nov 1821 at Lanchester, Durham.

I want to know if any ages are mentioned, father's of bride/groom or any other attendants/witnesses.

I'm already raising my eyebrows at this one!!!

There is a transcription of this marriage on FS it does say spouses father is William Thomas Esq. of Greenwell.

I had seen the FS image but I did doubt the father of the bride fact.... although possible of course!

So, what do you think the additional info means?!

Well I think her parents have passed away possibly.

Given she was 19 on the licence there is a baptism in 1802 in Durham

Ann Surtees bpt. 5 Mar 1802 born on the 2 March 1802

Parents: Robert Surtees and mother Margaret Robinson

Additional info: 1st daughter, father of Lanchester, mother of this parish

Definitely onto something here, on another transcript father is given as Robert Surtees Esq. and was his 7th child.

Wealthy family maybe?

We are trying to work it out.  You are always so wonderful....

The thing is.... Ann, wife of Henry Smales if often listed as being born c1811 from census'.  I had a awful feeling I was going to see her being married at 9 or 10 y/o...

I think William Thomas Greenwell Esq married Henry Smales' sister Dorothy Smales.
