This suggests that the census entries for Thomas Offord (including the names of his, and adjacent properties) would be very instructive. :-)

That is great. Thank you. I keep meaning to go for lunch at the White Hart as it is on our way to and from Diss. At least there was a place called Parsonage Green, which must be fairly close to the church. The pub is next door to the church. Will check the Census.

There is a green directly opposite the parsonage. It was called Little Green on the 1888 map. Just to the west of Blackboard Farm. This link to side by side maps should help. You can zoom out and move around. Just copy and paste.

My search has not started well; I've found a Thomas Offord in Bressingham (b1805, spouse Eliza, HO107/1822/177 p but he's an Agricultural Labourer, and he's living in Fen Street, which is the wrong end of Bressingham.

Thomas Offord of Roydon granted exemption from Jury Duty, due to being in excess of 60 years of age.

Thank you so much for being so busy upon my behalf. I shall have a look.

I live in Kenninghall and we are making a trip to Diss tomorrow weather permitting  so a detour is called for with a wander around the churchyard with lunch in the White Hart to follow I hope.
