If you purchase the marriage certificate, this should give you the names of the fathers of both bride and groom. Witnesses can sometimes be useful too as they may be family. Ages are often given, so may tally with the birth you found, or fibs may have been told if either bride or groom was underage.

As the marriage took place in 1844, you only have the 1841 census to try to find them with their families, but at least it would give you a starting point.

The census will tell you if the people were born in county or not, so you know whether you should try looking for them in the vicinity or elsewhere.

There is a ten year old Jane Randall in the 1841 census living in Ivy Lane, St Leonards Shoreditch. Her father appears to be Robert - a shoemaker I think. Mother is Sarah. Neither of them are born in county. The marriage certificate will tell you if father is Robert.

This might match with the birth you found but you still should confirm it is the same Jane Randall through the m/c.

Hi

If you found the marriage on Ancestry, the entry hasn't been indexed properly  from the original image

If so, look for Thomas Watkins m 1844 keyword Hoxton and move it on a page

In 1851 Michael and Jane are living in Reading and she is shown as aged 39, b. Sutton Courtney, Berkshire.

Familysearch shows her baptism in 1810 Sutton Courtney, dau. of Richard Randall and Mary Cripps.

So, are you trying to find a marriage for Jane Randall born 1828 Shoreditch or finding the Jane Randall who married Michael Ward??
