I have no idea if this is the place:

(but it's called "Old Hall" and it's in Mottram  ;))

If they were married in Mottram Old Hall, then it would be by special licence.

Good try Ruskie but my suggestion would be Mottram Hall in Mottram St Andrew who (allegedly) do a mean wedding package.

http://www.qhotels.co.uk/our-locations/mottram-hall/weddings/  (other Cheshire wedding venues are available).

Your Old Hall is in Mottram in Longdendale and doesn't appear to offer marriages.

Note  Ancestors, what is the date?. Marriages in approved premises (such as hotels, stately homes or historic buildings), have only been allowed since the amendment of the Marriage Act in 1995.

Stanmapstone is absolutely correct as ever, I foolishly overlooked the "ancestors" bit so the date makes a heck of a difference.

Ruskie - I may owe you one!

How can we confirm it, when we do not know the names nor the date?
