Thank you. So I guess it's wills or nothing else. But seems likely, though?

It certainly isn't an unreasonable assumption, but we've all been tripped up by those before!

I looked to see if there was anything in the newspapers but only William's death was reported, unless there was something in a local newspaper that hasn't made it online.

May I know where the entry for William is, and / or a transcript please?

Might it be worth checking to see if anyone has transcribed headstones for St Peter and St Paul, in case they are buried there? :-\

I'm not sure if you're referring to the newspaper or the burial, so here are both: http://www.rootschat.com/links/01it8/

04 December 1840 - Lincolnshire Chronicle

Having looked at the recorded M I Inscriptions at Caistor Church, in Grimsby Library
William Kennington d. 29.11.1840 age 73
Frances w.of William Kennington d. 22.3.1867 age 62.

This connects Frances to William.

Excellent work confirming the connection, but should the year be 1827?

Good find Itterby.  :)

It could be a mistranscription. If Frances died in 1827 aged 62 that would mean she was born in 1765, making her two years older than William, which sounds right.

Frances dying in 1867 aged 62 gives her a birth year of 1805 which must be wrong as they married in 1790.  :)

I will check the transcription when I am next in the library.   I have probably written wrongly.
