In the 1911 census, by which time the couple were living in Hungerford, Berkshire, her place of birth is listed as Tipperary.
I am having a real struggle trying to find out any further information about Anne or her mother Ellen, and I am new to the Irish side of family history!
As Anne was illegitimate would she have been born in a mother and baby home? I don't see any point in ordering a birth certificate as no father was listed at baptism, so I can't imagine there would be one on the birth certificate.
How can I find out more about Anne's mother with just the basics of her name Ellen O'Brien and the fact the latest she could have been born (with Anne being born 1872) would have been around 1855ish?
Any advice would be extremely gratefully received!
Julie
