ID required of possible Medal - Thomson, Deas or Turpies from the East of Fife.

Hi,
I have just started to research my family history as i have inherited some old photos. Some have names written on but majority do not.
I was just wondering if anyone would be able to help me date the attached photo? And if anyone knew what the medal (?) attached to his chest is?
The side of the tree that the photos are from, that i have gathered so far, are either Thomson, Deas or Turpies from the East of Fife.

There's nothing that 's really dateable from what he's wearing except to say it's early 20th. C.
Fortunately you've shown the back which is always a good idea & the stamp box from the Crown Studios card dates it 1913-29.
I suspect this is in the first half of those dates as the backdrop is a bit old fashioned for 1920 on.
Can you give us a high-res re-scan of just the medal.

Thank you very much for your reply. Thats really interesting that you can date the postcard from the stamp box! I will have to look at the other ones i have.
