Looking for information...Alfred C.Titley from Salford Lancashire, England.

Looking for any information, and  family of Alfred Titley,son of Christopher Titley  born Salford Lancashire England  in 1891 ...... Alfred married Mabel Barber and had children, Alfred, Ona May and Kenneth.

Alfred was born in 1891 and married Mabel Barber.I dont have newspaper death notices, for Kenneth, Ona or Alfred jnr but do have cemetery details as you will see in earlier posts.I am really hoping to find living family as Alfred was never mentioned by my husbands family in the UK, ....

Regarding the firstborn son of Alfred and Mabel TITLEY ... who seems to be Alfred C. (Alfred Christopher ?) TITLEY b. 1912 (as per earlier references given).

This man doesn't appear on any New Zealand electoral records.   

As you are aware though he travelled with his parents and younger brother Kenneth from New Zealand to the UK in the year 1932.

Alfred C. TITLEY does not appear to have returned to New Zealand.

I would think that is probably his marriage to Ellen WHITELEGGE  - registered at Bucklow - and their children's births - mentioned here in Reply # 13.   

AND this, is probably his death in England ?

So for this branch of the family, England seems to be the place to search ?

However it would appear that his correct name was Alfred Titley, without a second Christian name?

... it might be worth checking also (if you are able) to ascertain if Mabel and Alfred TITLEY remained in England for a number of years after their trip to UK with their sons in 1932.

I mention this because there is no record of them on New Zealand Electoral rolls between the years 1928 and 1949*.   
[*  We do know however that they (Mabel and Alfred) returned to (Wellington) New Zealand  aboard the "Dominion Monarch"  in 1946. ]
It may be that war prevented an earlier return to New Zealand ?

Kenneth TITLEY's marriage was to Ona May _____ * the widow of a New Zealand Army Captain who had died in 1945 as a result of wounds whilst a P.O.W. in Germany.

I've sighted funeral notices / Probate record (with Will), also the NZ Death Register entry (a form of Death Certificate) for this unfortunate and brave man, none of which indicated that he left children.
Ona May ____ went on to marry Kenneth the following year.

Hi lu.It does seem that Alfred did rather come and go.,and as Ona May does not seem to be on British records, as stated she was Kenneths wife, not sister wrong interpretation given in the past.It seems the family left for Wellington in 1915,Alfred,Mabel,Alfred jnr and Kenneth. visited the UK in 1946 with his wife and possibly children? and departed England again in 1958 on the Rangutata.When they left in 1915.All adresses of where he stayed in England tie in with the area where the family lived for many years, I will investigate whether Alfred jnr stayed in England etc.

Death notice for Ona May Titley [1997] not found.

Marriage details x 2 for Ona May sent by PM.

There are no immediate family names mentioned in any of the death notices other than those already known. There is no mention of Alfred or wife Mabel being grandparents. However if the information about Alfred C. Titley (some replies back), is correct, they were in fact grandparents. So there may have been grandchildren in New Zealand as well? But no indication of this in the death notice for Kenneth.

The death notice for Alfred Titley [1972] states "much loved father of Alfred (England)......"
