"Leezan"? what could that be?
« on: Monday 12 December 16 15:59 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone any idea what the name that appears to be "Leezan" Patten in a Tuam record of baptism of 1856 may properly be? She (I think) was born to Timothy Pateen (spelling varies) and Mary, who seems to have been born Kernachan or similar, and had younger siblings Michael (1859?) and Winifred at least. I've found it hopeless to get further back on Timothy and Mary, so I'd like to find out a bit more about some of Winifred's siblings, and think it might help to be more exact about the name. Thanks.
Threlfall (Southport), Isherwood (lancs & Canada), Newbould + Topliss(Derby), Keating & Cummins (Ireland + lancs), Fisher, Strong& Casson (all Cumberland) & Downie & Bowie, Linlithgow area Scotland . Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)

There is a girl's name Lesanne or Lisanne.  I know it from a South African girl, but I think Mr G has other examples.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Sorry to butt in, but just to say that it does look more like Suzann that Leezan on Sinann's link. There is an L on the other page but can't find an S for comparison.
