it's possible, although Leigh is quite a way from Salford/Manchester but that could explain why I've not found any birth record for salford.  I do remember my dad saying people called her Fanny.  Its given me a new direction to look into.  Thank you

Just putting this out there, but there is a birth for a Frances Renshaw Wilkinson (Dec qtr 1899, Salford 8d 143).

Going to check what surname is given as MMN on GRO.......

There's a marriage for Jospeh Wilkinson and Mary Dagnall in Prescot, 1885. I can find Mary, a widow, with some children including Fanny in 1901. Joseph and Mary's ages vary somewhat over the censuses, however the best fitting death for Joseph appears to be in 1896. This fits with the regular arrival of Wilkinson children, mmn Dagnall, until 1895, with a gap then before Fanny's birth.

Sorry if this has already been said or not the right people but Mary A Wilkinson married a Renshaw in Mar 1913 in Salford (8d 200)?

If Martha's find of a marriage is correct, then presumably they couldn't marry before 1913.  We know it wasn't because Mary was already married because she had been widowed.  We've got Mary on the 1901 census, presumably there should be a married William Renshaw in the vicinity

Not finding Mary Ann or most of her children in 1911 - should note that four of the five born prior to Fanny are in workhouses in 1901 (think the fifth died in infancy, as she was born in 1890 but isn't on 1891)
