Elizabeth Gwladys Morgan Death
« on: Tuesday 27 December 16 22:17 GMT (UK) »
Good evening, Elizabeth G Morgan nee Jones was born 24th November 1894 in Llanddona, Anglesey, Wales her parents were Peter Jones and Ann Elizabeth Allen nee Williams. She married Oscar Morgan 13 Dec 1918. They had a daughter Joan born in Irby 1927.  I have Oscar's death certificate 1941 died in Irby but stumped to find Elizabeth's.  I have found their grave in St Bartholomew's Church, Thurstaston and it says about Oscar 1941 and says about Elizabeth died on the 23rd September 1957 but can't find her death they lived at Hillview Road, Irby.  Much appreciate any help so I can send for it.  Many thanks and a Happy New Year to you all.
Regards
Heather

Hi, Heather, there is nothing obvious coming up on Freebmd. Even looking at the deaths in other areas than the Irby registration section there are no matching age deaths.
I wonder if she died abroad? It might be worth looking in the local paper for an obituary, there might be some pointers in the article.

Thank you very much, but digging deeper now I believe she remarried to a William Jones and died in Leicester.  Ashes put in the grave with her first husband.

Thank you once again and all the best
Regards
Heather :)

Her death is registered in Leicester in 1957 but her age is incorrect:-

JONES, ELIZABETH  GWLADYS age 56 1957 S Quarter in LEICESTERSHIRE CENTRAL Volume 03A  Page 413

Daughter - Elizabeth J Morgan married Arthur Davidson in Chester district in 1946

David

P.S. - There is a possible marriage for Elizabeth G in Chester in 1946 but to Wilfred T Jones

Sorry, but I got the wrong year for Elizabeth's second marriage.

Cheshire Marriage indexes for the years: 1944

JONES * Wilfred Thomas - JONES Elizabeth Gwladys - Chester, St Oswald. Cheshire West CE15/13/95
JONES * Wilfred Thomas - MORGAN Elizabeth Gwladys - Chester, St Oswald. Cheshire West CE15/13/95

thank you all - yes I spotted Elizabeth's second marriage to William, but I thought Joan Morgan married a Herbert W Crossley in Wallasey?  Not sure now there is another one.  I only have their daughter down as Joan Morgan and not Elizabeth, obviously I will have to do more digging.
Many thanks once more for all your help.
All the best
Heather

I have just spotted 2 Wills for Elizabeth Gwladys Jones, one says  28 Mar 1960 - Leicester, England and the other one says 14 Nov 1960 - Leicester, England.  Apart from these dates it is the same person.  One Will says money to Walter Thomas Jones and the other Will says money to John Gerald Jones.   Once more any help with this would be most appreciated.

the register lists not who the money is left to, but who is administring the estate. presumaby for some reason Wilfred was originally granted the powers of administration then for some reason was unable or unwilling to carry on with the duties, so they re-applied and had the powers transferred to JG Jones
