Thomas Jones & Mary Jones nee Morris - Glyn Ceiriog

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any information on Thomas Jones (b. Abt 1862) or his wife Mary Morris (b. Abt 1870). I only know these "about dates" from the 1911 Census Record from Box Cottage, Glyn Ceiriog.
They are my Great Grandparents, their son Ceiriog Jones is my Grandfather.
I am from New Zealand and it isn't easy to find much information as the number of Jones' in Wales makes it quite hard to pinpoint who is from which family sometimes.

Any information would be much appreciated,

Likely marriage, cert will give you fathers names if listed, which maybe help identify correct family on census.  Very much needed with 'Jones' to confirm correct link.

Possible family, think Thomas was raised by Grandparents. Full census can be viewed on FindMyPast.  If correct not sure what his marriage cert would say, but witness may help.  Also the family named lots of similar names. A few of this family have given some children the middle name Green. Also a possibility that mother Sarah is nee Edwards.

Possible 1841 for family, not locating 1851 at mo.  Looking for connection to be parent of Thomas b 1861, to tie family together.  Need to locate family in 1851.

Yay you found them, don't know how I missed them, guess Jones overload same address as 1841.

EDIT Didn't look in Montgomeryshire.

1851 Ty Ucha, Llancadwalladr, Llanfyllin, Montgomeryshire, Wales.  All b Llangadwaladr, Denbighshire, except wife Sarah.

So looks like Sarah 1841 is the likely mother as the others are too young, Edward is unmarried with parents in 1891.  They name another Dau Sarah, the youngest child, b c1862 so the one b c1841 must have died at some point perhaps in childbirth?

Possible, The Family were in this Reg district in 1861, would tie in with census.

There is a POSSIBLE marriage in 1859 for Sarah Jones/Thomas Jones in Corwen Reg district.

This needs to be verified, I would start with the 1892 marriage cert that will give you witness, possible both fathers and address that you can maybe link to census.
