Joseph died aged 2 in 1901 in Kilwinning (must have been just after the 1901 census entry you posted).

Mother Mary Murdoch/McCaldon died in 1950 aged 77 in Kilwinning.

McCaldon deaths where mother's maiden name shows as Murdoch include:

1980 - Thomas Murdoch McCaldon aged 61 in Ayr (possible marriage in 1950 to a Margaret Baxter McFadgen in Kelvingrove).
1984 - William Murdoch McCaldon aged 74 in Dalmellington (possible marriage in 1941 to a Margaret Grieve Gibson in Ayr).

Possible death for father David, aged 64 in 1933 in Waterside.

Possible death for Mary Jnr, aged 18 in 1922 in Waterside.

Possible death for Jane, aged 16 in 1922 in Waterside.

Monica

PS: The Waterside deaths likely correct with this mention here http://warmemscot.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=1222 of Robert and James on the Waterside Memorial.

If these deaths are correct, then only descendants from Thomas and William would give living family from this family today...
