Thomas Shanks / Susan Fahey *** no further help required
« on: Saturday 21 January 17 14:08 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to help a friend trace her family roots, but as I am Scottish, I really am struggling in knowing where to research Irish records.

My friend's maternal grandfather was named Thomas Shanks, and on 25 December 1912, he married my friend's maternal grandmother, Susan Fahey.
I have managed to find their marriage record and now we know that Thomas was a soldier at The Barracks in Athlone. Thomas' father was also called Thomas, but we have no idea what his mother was called.
We also know that Susan's father was called James, and her mother was called Anne, but we don't know Anne's maiden name.
Can anyone help us further this research?

Well this looks to be the Fahey's

with a possible illigitimate Joseph born to Susan in October 1910

Thank you so much for spending the time looking for these records, which I actually already had, but your offer to help is much appreciated.

This is James and Ann marriage

Mullowney is the name.

Thank you for spending the time to look up these records.
I already had Susan's birth record, but I shall keep the James and Mary marriage as a possibility.
