William MURCHIE Margaret TENNENT - Glasgow and Fife

I am looking for any information on William and Margaret.

They were married in Glasgow where they had two sons, William (1793) and John (1795). They then had Allen Barbour Murchie, in 1797, in Dunfermline. This information is from ScotlandsP.

I wonder if 'Barbour' could be of help in tracing parents of William or Margaret?

Allen was sent to Australia for taking part in the Scottish rebellion.

Any information on Allen' family in Scotland would be much appreciated.

Allen married Elizabeth Marshall (her parents unknown). I was thinking their childrens' names may help with his family line. They had in the following order:

Jamjar,  Alan Murchie would have been born in 1797?  & taken part in the Radical War of 1820. The 1820 society I'm sure would be delighted to hear from you, these guys thought Scotland should be independent, an issue which is still very much on the cards!

Yes Skoosh, SP has his date as 16/04/1797. (I corrected my error above)

He did quite well for himself here in NSW. He died in 1866.

He and his partners in crime were pardoned. Make one wonder why he didn't go back home.

Have been provided with a link to a William Murchie at  Great Dove Hill, Gallowgate, Glasgow, in 1822. Could be either William the father or his son.

Jamjar,  just checked the Membership Roll of the Incorporation of Glasgow Weavers in case he was one? There are Mutrie's around that time but a John Murchie, merchant Glasgow was admitted in 1860-61. Could be related? by this time the membership was comprised anything but weavers as the old radical hand-loom weavers had been replaced by machine minders.
