Staffordshire 1841 look-up request
« on: Wednesday 01 February 17 15:06 GMT (UK) »
Could SKS please look in the 1841 Wolverhampton (or Staffordshire general area) for:

John Haycock/Heacock
born 1781 Wheaton Aston (bapt. Lapley)
agricultural/general laborer (or poss. blacksmith)
wife Sarah born approx. 1797 Wolverhampton (marr. 1839)

I'm hoping to receive names with which I could possibly find more links to other children (son John, born Oswestry, blacksmith lived with Dixon family W'hampton at the time) and from there the name of his first wife.

Thanks!

Haycock (Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Oswestry); Rosewell (Shepperton); Wales/Whales (Thanet, Kent); Daborn (Chobham, Horsell); Prince and Powell (Liverpool area); Maxted and She(e)pwashe (Kent); Milo/Millot (France, Holland, England); genealogical research project on links to ancient Frisian aristocracy (Hofstra-Fynia-Tania). It keeps me off the streets ;)

Well...

That would be quite a coincidence, as he had a brother named Thomas born 1778. The latter, however, was married to Elizabeth Robinson and lived in Wheaton Aston.

So it could be possible I guess. I do know that in 1851 they were living at Steelhouse Lane, W'hampton. Is there any additional information?

@Kay99

Guess I'll just 'assume' this to be him then, as there doesn't seem to be any other couple that fits the bill. Thank you for the effort!   :)

@Trish

That would be wonderful, but if I remember correctly this baptism was discounted years ago already (this search is starting to have epic proportions!), although I can't really remember why again.
Possibly because that couple baptized children at a time when John the father would've simply been too young.  :-\

Yes, that's John 2nd marriage. As far as I know there were no children from that union, due to the couple's advanced age.

It's John's 1st marriage I'm trying to find, the mother of John Haycock the blacksmith, 1810-1816 Oswestry.

Thank you for your effort though  ;)
