Hi there!

I've hit a brick wall attempting to trace my great- great- grandmother's parentage down. I'd love some help finding them. Her year and place of birth are consistently described Wrexham, Wales in 1861 and she was married at a Wesleyan nonconformist chapel in Chorley, Lancashire.

Her father is named on her marriage record as Edward Boston, but I cannot find a record of any Boston's which match either her or her father. I expect it might be a spelling mistake, or an inconsistently spelt name.

I believe I've found Mary in the 1881 census, working as a servant near Lancaster in a large house. Her name is very difficult to read but looks like Bosten. 

If anyone could give me any advice on tracing her before this point I would be very grateful! she's an interesting character and I'd love to know more about her.

The only marriage I can find in the wider area for an Edward Boston is to a Lavinia Hallam which took place at Hope Holy Trinity Stoke-on-Trent Staffordshire in 1855.

Are you sure about the birthyear?There is a birth for a Mary  Boston in the the Wrexham District in 1866.
