Marriage for Mary Holdroyd & Charles Turton either Marr or Arksey

Have just found Benjamin in 1841 as a servant. Yes I had John's baptism in Sprotborough & my line is William who they baptised in Leeds !!!  Cannot find anything for Mary who can't have been born 1811"as she married in 1823 in Marr. Also no trace of Mary Turton nee Holdroyd after 1841 census so perhaps she remarried. My William married a girl from Chesterfield area in 1849 & says his father is Charles Turton occupation miner. In 1851 William & wife Anne live Warren area of Chapeltow & his brother John born 1824 is living Holland but no mother with either of them.

No he was a miner on 1851 , 61 ,71 census. Then 1881 he is a cooperative storekeeper. Interestingly on 1871 census he is living on Stead Lane in Hoyland & I think I've seen some Holdroyds living there. Will go back & look how close to each other they are. William was born 1827 & states Leeds as place of birth. His brother John born 1824 goes to live in Chesterfield area which is where Williams wife Anne Collie comes from.

Marriage Benjamin Oldroid to Hannah Piper 1803 at Brodsworth.
Baptism Brodsworth Mary Oldroid 1804 daughter of Benjamin Oldroid and Hannah Oldroid late Piper.
7 further baptisms in Sprotbrough to Benjamin and Hannah with surname Holroyd,Holdroyd and Olroyd which include Benjamin and William who are at Birdwell on 1841 census.
Hannah Piper was born in Brodsworth
Only other marriages between a Benjamin and Hannah are at Halifax And Huddersfield.
1804 makes her old enough to be getting married in 1823 so could be the one.

On the wedding banns 1803 it states Benjamin Oldroid residence as Sprotbrough.
The family lived at Brandfields Sprotbrough.
Benjamin and Hannahs daughter Esther born 1808 married a Joseph Windley also at Arksey .
Benjamin Holroyd b1821 married Martha Langstaff in 1860 and lived at Birdwell 1861 as Holyrod and by 1881 had moved to stead lane .
William Holroyd b1826 married a langstaff as well.

Back again.
On the 1861 census your William is living next to Charles Hayes at Lane ends/Stead lane on later census.
Charles Hayes is a widower on 1841 census but by 1851 he is married.
Charles Hayes married in 1842 Ecclesfield . Only Mary on the same page is Mary Ann JURTON .
On the census Charles new wife Mary states place of birth Brodsworth.
I think thats where Williams mum ended up ,,living next door.

Mary dies in 1875 aged 71 and Charles Hayes marries again to a Mary Woodhead.
By 1881 census Mary Holroyds Brother Benjamin has moved in next door to Charles Hayes on Stead Lane
