My apologies for this - I know that I have my moments of being totally "thick"  :-[

BUT how do you the precise date and address of Emma's birth in 1899?  :-\

From the new facility on GRO:

1899 Emma Wilson - mother's maiden name is Garner
1898 Emma Elizabeth Wilson - mother's maiden name is Willets

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
He/she who never made a mistake, never made anything.
Archbell - anywhere, any date
Kendall - WRY
Milner - WRY
Appleyard - WRY

Hi, my great aunt Emma's parents were Robert Wilson and annie garner. I checked the higgs marriage before in the Wolverhampton archives and the certificate on it has emmas dad as Roberts brother Edward james Wilson so that emma who married higgs is my great aunts cousin emma (they're both named it after Robert and Edwards sister emma who died as a baby). Sorry for trouble guys but emma in 1911 census is last positive evidence before she vanishes. Hence my dead end.

On the 1939 register for each entry of Robert's and Annie's children check for an Emma on the same/prev/next page - her date of birth may have been mis-transcribed

For the marriage certificates that you already have check for an Emma as a witness - she may be a witness to her siblings' marriages under her then married name.

Lastly, check your deceased ancestors against the Merridale Cemetery indexes located here:
http://www.wolverhamptonhistory.org.uk/resources/indexes

make a note of the grave numbers and then search the A-Z records for other family members with the same grave numbers - Emma may turn up there.

A William G Pickin marries Emmie Wilson in Cannock Registration District, Dec 1920, 6b/1187

William G Picken and Emma (born 23 January 1898) are living at 36 School Lane, Wolverhampton (OQCT). An Emma Picken dies in Wolverhampton RD, in Dec QTR 1983, with a DoB of 27 January 1898. Is School Lane, near where any of her siblings were living?

Personally, I've come across many dates of births that are the same month and day but are up to a year out when comparing the 1939 Register and the death indexes (in one case the 1 and 0 were transposed to give 1910 instead of 1901).

These are the other Emma with the same year (+/-1), month and day of birth

Emma Collins    1899    Sep 1977    Surrey Mid eastern (perhaps a divorced Emma Abbiss?)
Emma Crole    1900    Dec 1981    Ogwr
Emma Davies    1898    Mar 1975    Shrewsbury
Emma Eaton    1899    Oct 1996    Blackpool and Fylde
Emma Fell    1899    Sep 1981    Solihull South - Emma Franksom (or Frankcom) married William E Fell
Emma Hicks    1900    Nov 1987    Todmorden
Emma Keeling    1900    Sep 1974    Liverpool
Emma Picken    1898    Dec 1983    Wolverhampton

I would suggest that the William G. Picken married to Emmie Wilson is the right one.   However, only sight of the marriage certificate can confirm.
