John Coughlan, Cullenagh, Kildorrery - Myres Kildorrery

Hi,

I am hoping some expert here might be able to help me find my GGGrandmother's parents.

Her name was Hanora ( Nano) Coughlan of Cullenagh ( sometimes spelling Cuilinagh), Kildorrery.   She married John Leonard on 7th February 1885 at RC Chapel at Shrahaila in the registration district of Kildorrery.  Her father is named John Coughlan, on marriage cert, and a farmer  (deceased.)

I haven't been able to find a birth for her - showing her father as John, lots of other Hanora Coughlans with various spellings.

I did find a marriage for a John Coughlan to Catherine Myres ( sometimes spelling Myers)
on Feb 6th 1864 Kildorrery.

I am really trying to find her birth/baptism details which would show me her mother's name or her parents marriage.

I would be delighted if someone could point me in the right direction or know this family.

1901 census shows her as age 40 (born c1861)

She's dead by 1911 so no comparison between that 10 year period.

Since marriages usually take place in bride's church have you checked for a baptism where the marriage took place?

Thank you so much for your very speedy reply.  I went back and had a fresh look at the records.
I can't believe I actually found a baptism for Honora and it turns out that her mother isn't Catherine Myres as I had thought but Johanna O'Brien.

She was baptised 1st April 1857, Parents John Coughlan & Johanna O'Brien sponsors were Bridget Coughlan & Edmond Carroll.  This took place at Kildorrery parish church.

I found her parents marriage too -
They married in Killavullen parish church on 6th July 1844 witnesses James O'Brien & David Magner.

I found some burials too for some of these Coughlans at Kildorrery on www.historicgraves.com

So lots more work to do.

Thank you so much for your help and interest, unfortunately these are not for my Hanora ( Nano).  I did find her baptismal details on the FindMyPast site ( I still laugh when I think of how you described that when I was starting out on my family search!!!).

Hope you have progressed your own family history since we were in touch.
