Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Do you know if these people are still alive? RootsChat have a policy of no living persons name should be revealed.

If you know they are no longer with us do you have their ages from the marriage cert and any father's names please?

JJ

Hi JJ, both Eva and Wilfred died some years ago. Wilfred was my Fathers cousin and they both attended my parents wedding in 1949, I do not have Eva's and Wilfred's wedding certificate, it would be nice to find out more about Eva's family, I don't think they had any children.
Regards Linda.

There is a birth of an Eva Booth -
q3 1920, Belper
Vol 7b Page 1324a
Mother's maiden name - Hunter

Marriage -
q2 1920, Derby
Charles Booth to Lilian E Hunter
Vol 7b Page 2078

There was another birth to this marriage -
Margaret Booth
q1 1928, Belper
Vol 7b Page 1057
Mother's maiden name - Hunter.

By doing a free search on the 1939 Register there is a Lilian E Booth (b. 1896) Charles Booth (b. 1895) Margaret Booth (b.1927) and one closed record, which could be Eva, living in Belper.

Whilst the above seems a good match it needs to be clarified by some certs or do you know when and where Eva died, which should record her date of birth or at least the year?

JJ

From what I can see Wilfred was Wilfred M. Davies and from deaths this looks like it as birth details tie in with a birth in Newport:

Wilfred Melville Davies b.9/12/1918, died Sept.1996 Derby.

Assuming Eva died in the same area there just seems to be this one:

Eva Davies b.20/2/1919 d.June 2004 Derby.

This birthdate doesn't fit with the birth in Belper in 1920.

Being as the marriage immediately after the war it's more than possible that Eva was not actually local to the area.
