I remember an Albert - but not sure if it was Gerken

Just to clear that one up, I checked my Kelly's directories for 1955 and 1958 and the only Albert listed in Bennett Street was Albert D Steel at number 8.

Albert Edward Gerken lived in 7 Island Road, Garston and was a Sugar Refiner Manager (presumably at Tate and Lyle ).
