Date of image on a metal plate - Walmsley

I found this photo in my fathers family tree info but I don't know who it is. The photo is a hard metal plate about the thickness of a tin can - any idea what date this could be and is it possible to enhance the photo? This may be a big ask but a date range would at least be useful. All I  suspect is that it is a relative of Alan Walmsley b1919 in Manchester, England. Any chance that you could scan again in a higher resolution? You could save it as a jpg instead of a png file to get the file size down for posting.

Well this is a bit of an oddity.
Tintypes (like this in a gilt frame) were short lived as the gilt frame cost more to produce than the picture & the medium wasn't very popular anyway so you have a date for gilt framed Tintypes of 1865-75, however this is Edwardian.
Tintypes made a come back in the 1890's & were used by seafront photographers who would set up booths & produce instant photographs (as no negatives were created) but these were put in card envelopes.
This looks to have been done in a studio.
So what you have is a Tintype taken 1905 - 10 in a studio which for anywhere outside of the USA is a rarity & I can't see this being anywhere in the UK.
