Hi all im looking for birth records for James Alexander KERR..b c1850 supposidly in Carluke ive tried scotlands people free search but no luck .Onl;y other info is i have him marrying Ann KING in 1869 in Glasgow..no other info..hope someone can help thanks

Hi Jessie i dont know i only have him with wife Ann King from his daughters marriage cert then found marriage on IGI some years back

Hi,
   I suggest you go to Scotlands People and look up his marriage cert. to Ann King his parents should be named on this certificate and from that should be able to find him on census.

SP credits cost £7 for 30 credits and as you know his marriage date you should be able to access it . Cost is 6 credits and you can download the cert there and then.

Did you put in both names? If so, that is why you couldn't find it. The index search for marriages with both spouses' names mostly does not work until 1928. Go back to SP, put in the name of just one spouse and the year, and it will come up. Reference is 1869 Bridgeton 644/3 109.

Thank you i tried that and it worked this time.That will change how i search for other Scottish Forebears on S.P now.?
