I am looking into a John Sobey who was a signalman on this railway in 1911 census. Any ideas where i could find his staff records etc

The online staff appointments for Broad Street Station (in the City of London) show his appointment there on 2 March 1892.

Individual staff records for this railway are held at the National Archives, Kew, in class RAIL 529. They are not online, but there is some partial name-indexing in the catalogue, see here ...
