My Great-grandmother Elizabeth Bertha Attrill was born 1892 in Rookley, Isle of Wight. She was the daughter of James Henry Attrill b.1850/1 in Arreton, Isle of Wight and of Alice Jane Reed born about 1857 in Carisbrooke , Isle of Wight. I want to find out more about Alice Jane Reed . what is her real birth date ? And her parents?  And when did she die ? I don't have more information about her . I hope you can help me to get further back with my Reed family

No i don't have her marriage certificate and i don't know much about her. I think that she was born in year 1857 in Carisbrooke this Information comes from Myheritage.

All the censuses after marriage give her birth place as Isle of Wight, Carisbrooke though she does use the name Jane in 1901 and 1911.

A George Reed married a Charlotte Blow Isle of Wight Dec 1/4 1852. If this is the George and Charlotte in my previous post it is a good example of the variations in spelling that can happen.
There is a birth registration of a Jane Reed Dec 1/4 1856 mother's maiden name Blow. No birth reg for an Alice Jane 1856-1858.
There are two births for Alice Maud Read in 1857
No births for Alice Reid or Jane Reid

So could your Alice Jane on her marriage certificate actually have been registered as Jane at birth but her parents added Alice at her baptism?.
