Wow, we're blown away by the responses, you are all amazing! Here's some extra information from my dad which may help answer the questions above...
Albert Fuller was born in Liverpool in 1884 (based on 1901 Census age of 17 and 1911 age of 27). Don't know when family moved to Dublin - possibly 1884-1886 - as Albert was born in England in 1884 and his sister Elizabeth was born in 1886 in Dublin. Albert was living in Dublin in 1901 with his parents (Edward and Elizabeth) and 2 siblings (Henry and Elizabeth) - living at 5 Empress Place and his occupation is given as 'messenger'. An older brother Edward had left the family home by 1901. In 1911 Census (April ?) Albert is listed as living-in at 17 St Stephen's Green where he worked as a kitchen porter. Albert Fuller married Elizabeth Feeney on 17th September 1911 in Dublin - living then in North Charles Street and his occupation is given as 'plateman' on the Marriage Certificate. They had 5 children - Hubert, Albert, Simeon (Sam), Desmond and Mary. Family lived at 63 Caledon Road, East Wall, Dublin. Albert died on 19th December 1921 - death certificate gives age as 33 but suspect that this should be 36/37. His occupation at the time of death was 'warehouseman'.
If the boy soldier is Albert it's probably unlikely that he returned to England to serve and most likely enlisted in Ireland ca 1898-1900. We don't know what Albert was doing between 1901 and 1910/11 - so if it is he in the football team he could have returned to England to join up or he could have enlisted in Ireland. From 1911 on he was married and rearing a family in Dublin. There is no evidence that he was in service during WW1 - which begs the question why would he not have been 'called up' - as an Englishman and former service man? More questions......
Appreciate getting all those responses - perhaps the above might bring some clarification....
