the elusive Larkoms !
« on: Monday 10 April 17 09:08 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help with this fellow Thomas?

Im trying to find family in Gloucestershire/Somerset. Ive tried many variations of the name and come up empty.
Surname is  Larkken/Larkkon etc. I have Robert Joseph Larkkon born 1836; his dad Thomas Larkon born 1804 Somerset ? and name only formy Target his father, Thomas LARKENN born 1755 Bristol and wed to Ellen born 1760.
I cant cite sources for this data and am having devilish trouble picking up  anything per IGI,BDM, or familytree .

Just to add further to the confusion - Robert Joseph, baptised 14 August 1836 - son of Thomas and Ellinor/Elinor LARKHAM.

Now Im really confused !
So what county census 1841 was this please ?

Thomas LARKHAM married Eleanor THOMAS - 11 June 1835, Bristol, This Is my guy, he married Eleanor G. below. A couple years after the death of first hubby.
What has me vexed is the date given for the marriage to Samuel Thomas in 1835. when said Samuel should have been cold in his grave.

Samuel THOMAS married Eleanor GREENMAN - 7 February 1835, St Augustine-The-Less Bristol

According to the Enumerator's page for the entries where Robert, Thomas and Elinor Larkom appear on the same page, but in different households - Parish of St Augustine, Bristol in the Eastern Division of Somerset.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks Bumbleb,
and a new word for me Wapentake!
Not clear yet on this bunch but if Im reading it right its Thomas with E Greenman and a son Robert aged 5 yrs, living with the inlaws..Greenman family.
What trips me up is the fact that this Thomas is son of Thomas Larkon and Ellen also. And thats the bloke Im trying to bag.
Being a new boy, and an old fart, I have trouble wrapping my head around this stuff.
