What's his address in 1851 all I've seen is a transcript saying School Lane? I presumed he was still in the court house. He was living on the other side of School Lane by the time of Pigot & Slater 1843, here is the street he is at number 15:-

I haven't seen the 1841 image yet just the Family Search transcript. I'm wondering about that now because 1839 Gore's Directory has Robert at 15 School Lane:-

I suppose number 15 could be a shop and the other address his home.

hi all, sorry i could nt come online lastnight and today as i have my 1 1/2 year old granddaughter on a monday night, tuesday day, then my son for tea, all gone now, peace reigns lol

yes the above is right ,but the family is eggers, and thats their daughter jane, who married william eggers a cigar maker, i think thats why i thought there maybe a connection with the hugh bullen tobacconist, william was 10 years older than jane and i thought he may have known her grandfather, durr

there also was untill about 10 years ago a tobacconist shop on school lane, which was only small in one of the very old buildings on school lane and i thought that may have been where they lived, but probs just my overactive imagination putting things together that never where, oh dear

well i ve had a quick look at the directories you sent and i ve downloaded them, thanks so much for them, i love things like that, makes them seam more real, plus i ll be able to print out copies for my mums 2 brothers, as i m doing print out family tree s for them and me to keep for the future

you are all so generous with your time and i really appreciate it, hope one day i m good enough to help someone too :) cathie
