No finds on British Deaths Overseas on Findmypast, sorry.

I know you can't find Gilbert in 1911, but might it be possible that Benjamin informally changed his name when/if he left the family? So death, migration or whatever he did is recorded under another name.

That is a possibility, which will be like 'looking for a needle in a haystack'

It could be one of those mysteries that will remain as such.  ???
