Ann Chetham
« on: Tuesday 18 April 17 01:19 BST (UK) »
Hi there,

I am looking for more information on my 6th grand mother And Chatham.

She married Robert Scholes in Manchester in 1786.

She then married my 6th grandfather Thomas Hobson in Manchester 1792. Widow.

Can anyone find any information on either Ann or thomas?
I cannot find their parents.
Thank you. :)

As the marriage in 1792 was by Licence, it may be a good idea to see whether the Allegation and/or Bond has survived.  From the marriage entry Thomas is a Calico Printer, but the Bond/Allegation may also provide his age, as well as Ann's.

Ann's earlier marriage gives her surname as Chettham, and both parties were from Blakley (Blackley).

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Is this coincidence  :-\

Ann Chettham married Robert Scholes at Manchester Cathedral on 8 June 1786.  There is a baptism for Ann Chettham at Manchester Cathedral on 7 May 1786 - daughter of John and Elizabeth Chettham.  :-\
