Firstly I can't thank you enough for your help  :)

I do have unsourced info from ancestry that states an Anderson campbell served in the military on August 4, 1785, in Dublin, Ireland.

This would fit with the missing dates between marriage and first child - but I can't substantiate the info?

Sidetracking a bit there is a Samuel who was born c1797 Soho is in Newington 1851 with wife Mary Ann his occ Law Stationers Clerk  HO107/1566 f234 p39

1871 still with wife RG10/610 f58 p18

CAMPBELL    Samuel   
age 81   
St. Saviour reg dist    1d   62

If it is the info that you need a Fold3 sub for the documents are also available on FindMyPast, however they show no more relevant information than transcribed on Ancestry or in my post above

There's a reference to an Anderson Campbell in the Royal Chelsea Hospital records, which may be the same person (1st Foot regiment; candidacy year 1785).
