OBITUARY.
The funeral of the late Mr. George Lillis took place yesterday to the White Hills Cemetery. The cortege left the residence of deceased's son-in-law, Mr. James Corbett, in Lucan-street, at 4 p.m., and was largely attended. The coffin-bearers were Messrs. P. Higgins, P. Kennelly, P. Ryan and J. Carney. The deceased gentleman was a native of Ireland, and had spent b]53 [/b]years in Victoria. He left one son and two daughters. The Rev. Father Rohan read the burial service. Messrs. Fizelle and Mulqueen were the undertakers.

Thankyou! Yes, this was the obituary I was quoting in my first post, when it said that he had spent 53 years in Victoria. However, this may be a simple miscalculation, as he got married in Victoria in 1860, and his death in 1914 would mean that 53 years before hand is 1861.
