Is rev Lawrence sanders of Cambridge my ancestor?

Is he the father of my ancestor John sanders born 1539 in downton, Wiltshire?

I think if he was a priest then he shouldn't have been anybody's father in 1539.  Which doesn't of course mean that he couldn't have been, but any children of his would not have been recognised as such.

How do you know that the father of John Sanders b 1539 is Lawrence Sanders?

London Daily News dated 8 February 1905 has an extensive article on Rev Lawrence Sanders who was executed on 8th February 1555 - there is no mention of him having any family

Ok, well in that case, what leads you to ask if the Rev Lawrence Sanders is the father of John Sanders?
How did you get to John Sanders b 1539 in Downton Wiltshire?
Do you have a record of his baptism for example?
If he is your ancestor you must have done a lot of research to get back to 1539.
Did John have any siblings? You may be able to find out John's parentage via his siblings.
