Adobe Photoshop Elements instead of Photo Gallery

I've used Adobe Photoshop Elements to view & work on my pictures for a good few years. All of a sudden when I click on a thumbnail of an image up comes the image in Photo Gallery - I think this is something installed by Windows, but I'm not sure. Anyway how can I get my pictures to open up and view & manipulate using Adobe Photoshop Elements

I'm using Windows 7 and both programmes are still on my computer

Are they saved as photoshop files (.psd) or jpg, etc. ?

They are jpg files

Right click on the file and then select 'choose default program' and then select Photoshop Elements from the drop down list.
However, this means that all your jpg files will open with Elements.

Ahh you got the update that tries resetting Defaults to Windows stuff...!
