Only adult men that filled the criteria to vote. I'm not sure that even all men were allowed to vote at that stage.
Have a look at the headings in the 1908 Rolls, it has one giving how the person qualifies to vote, and all the names are male.

Occasionally, you get a woman - a property owner in her own right - she can vote in Municipal elections, I think . . but not General elections.
Begg - Dublin, Limerick, Cardiff
Brady - Dublin
Breslin - Wexford, Dublin
Byrne - Wicklow
O'Hara - Wexford, Kingstown
McLoghlin - Roscommon
Lawlor - Meath, Dublin
Lynam - Meath and Renovo, Pennsylvania
Everard - Meath
Fagan - Dublin
Meyler/Myler - Wicklow
Gray - Derry, Waterford
Kavanagh - Limerick

Interesting, thanks.

Well that's my idea blown out of the water!
I took my problem to my local family history meeting last night. It was a session about brick walls.
Someone suggested that Kathleen's mother may have been Susan's sister.
Also 'Bastardy bonds' were mentioned. Did those exist in Ireland as they did in UK?
