Mr Turner... ?
« on: Tuesday 02 May 17 17:40 BST (UK) »
Hi All.
I'm looking for a couple who lived in or around the Bocking area of Braintree, in the 1940's and earlier.
Their surname was TURNER and I'm sure that his wife's maiden name was PERKIN. I don't have their Christian names.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Have you looked for a marriage on freebmd?  Possibility in 1945

Have you looked for them on the 1939 register to at least establish their christian names and ages?

What is your interest in them?

Between 1945-1985 there were over 165 deaths for that surname in the Braintree RD so you can appreciate the problem without more information

Hi.

I knew that I was asking a lot, with such little info for you to work on.

At this moment, the only other info I have is that Mrs Turner had a daughter in 1947 and it gives the mothers name as Perkin.

Thank you.

Perhaps buying a copy of the 1947 birth cert is the answer.  It will at least give parents christian names.

There is also the possibility Mrs Turner was previously married.  Perkin could be her birth surname but she will have re-married under her married name.  Children born to the remarriage will show her true maiden name

There were no births in the Braintree district with a surname Turner and mother's name Perkin or Perkins, but in the Chelmsford district there is a Removed Turner, mother Perkin, Sep.1947, 4a, 728.

Moderator comment: please do not post names of people who may still be alive.

Use www.freebmd.org.uk to find the names

There seems to be a relevant Turner birth in Dunmow the year after the 1939 Register
