Could this be the birth reg of your Mr Turner?
Dec 1912 Dunmow 4a 1645
Turner, Charles Thomas
mother Livermore

Possible marriage of the parents in London
June 1908 Pancras 1b 213
Livermore, Alice Eliza
Turner, Charles Thomas

Did the father die around the time the son was born?
Dec 1912 Dunmow 4a 883
Turner, Charles Thomas
age 24

Then a possible remarriage for mum, as per the 1939 newspaper article
March 1914 Dunmow 4a 1132
Gilder, Arthur
Turner, Alice E.

There are Gilder births, mmn Livermore, in Dunmow following that marriage.

Indeed. But it appears that F.H. does not think the Gloucester marriage is the right one.
Best then if he follows Carole's excellent advice and buys the 1947 birth certificate.

I knew that I was asking a lot, with such little info for you to work on.

You certainly were.
