WW2 Bomber Command
« on: Friday 05 May 17 13:12 BST (UK) »
Hi, trying to help a friend find more information on a relative who was supposed to have served in bomber command.

Lawrence A Godfrey born 1923 Orsett Essex, he survived the war.

Not my area so not sure what is out there or where to look.

Thank you for any help.

Your friend may be interested in obtaining his service records:

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/royal-air-force-personnel/#8-lists-of-raf-servicemen

Apparently Find My Past have some records for airmen though I have no idea how extensive they might be. If you don't have a subscription, there is a £1 for one month offer at the moment (only until the 7th May). Information and code required here: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=770775.0
