Hi,
What I do is.....
Highlight the text or picture and ctrl and c then go to a word doc and ctrl and v
This will copy and paste it, see how many pages, then reduce the text to say 8 or 10 size. save the word doc as a file. (keep in case you need it again) then attach to your email.
I have in the past done this straight into the email as people have different systems and some can not open my files.
Explain to the user at the other end to increase to what they like.
I suppose some one will say what a strange way, but it works for me.

One easy way is to compress (zip) the file - I've found that this can shrink the size of a Gedcom file to around 20% of the original size, or even less. The way to do it is to right-click on the file, then choose Send To, and then Compressed (Zipped) Folder. Then email the zipped folder instead. Usually the recipient will be able to get at the file simply by double-clicking to open it, but sometimes they might need to right-click and Unzip instead.

If you still can't send the file, there may be some underlying issue which we need to look at. If so, please come back to us with:
(a) the size of the file
(b) whether there are any images connected with it
(c) which email program/client you're using
(d) whether you have access to anything like Dropbox, OneDrive etc
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson
