Hello,

I am trying to trace what happened to a relation of mine, she was an emigrant from Cork, Ireland called Anastacia Russell born in Cobh circa 1907, she married James Manning from the village of Ballycotton, Cork. He appears to have died sometime between 1940 & 1948. As a Widow she worked as a Secretary for John W Synder, Secretary for the Treasury in the White House during the Truman Administration. Her married name was Anastacia Manning. I know from the last record I found (Find my grave) that she was alive in 1974, I have no idea what her native state was or her date of death or where she is buried.

Below are the records I have found on her through the Truman Museum records in Missouri:

1. The name of Anastatia R. Manning appears once in President Truman's daily appointments calendar. She is listed as one of about eighty persons who were invited to witness the presentation of the Medal of Merit to Secretary of the Treasury John W. Snyder at the White House on May 14, 1947.

2. Researchers at the Truman Library found one letter from John W. Snyder to Secretary of the Interior Oscar Chapman, dated July 2, 1951, with the handwritten notation "Mrs. Manning-3405" in the upper-right-hand corner. The White House, July 2 1951

3. Listed on the below link to memorial of her work colleague:
