The age of the Thomas Gwillim you found is given as 9 in the new GRO index, the death was registered in the January, February, March quarter of 1844.

So wondering whether there are parents names in the Parish Register for him?

Here's another possibility.
Article from Hereford Journal, 21 February, 1844.
Deaths
February 12th, in Monnow St, Thomas Gwilliam, aged 9 years.

No mention of parents so could possibly be an orphan? I will see what I can find out about Monnow St.

Thanks, that could quite easily be him, are you able to give more details of what went in the Hereford Journal?  Just a death notice maybe?   Have been to Monmouth, the Church where Thomas Gwilliam Snr was working as a Clergyman's Servant was in Drybridge Street on the corner of Monnow Street.  The family were living in Goldwire lane in 1851 census.    Wondering if the young boy was an accidental death.

That is exactly what the death notice said in the newspaper, no other detail. I looked up Monnow St and apparently its the main street in Monmouth. I was thinking there could have been a workhouse or something there but apparently not. Just a thought though, maybe a hospital? I will keep looking.

Yes Monnow Street, Drybridge and Goldwire Lane are all at the intersection of the bridge right beside the Parish Church, where our family lived.
Am pretty sure this could be our young man who died aged 9 years, guess the only way to really confirm is to get a copy of the death certificate.
His father Thomas died in 1850 aqed 49 years from TB and was living in Drybridge Street at the time of his death.

Hi again,
Got copy of birth certificate of Thomas & Susan Gwillim's first child born of their marriage, 1845, William Gwillim was born at Harpers Yard, Monmouth, which is definitely in Monnow Street.
So that would seem to be our young man, Thomas Gwillim who died in 1844.   Wonder why no parents names given on documentation.

Also another bit of information and help please, in 1851 Census, the family then living in Goldwire Lane,Monmouth, shows Thomas Gwillim, Susan Gwillim, William Gwillim 5 and Lucy Gwillim 2 at this address, as well William Gwillim, father-in-law aged 75 years a Widower.   Wonder if there are any Parish Records for his death.      By 1861 census, Susan Gwillim was now a Widow, as her husband had died in 1859, and they were living in Drybridge Street, Monmouth.

Sorry, I keep posting, checking up on things, I can see on free BDM two William Gwilliams who died in Monmouth.   William Gwilliam Dec.1851 Vol 26 Page 53 and William Gwilliam March 1859 Vol 11a Page 2.

Would love to be able to confirm one of these is also our William Gwilliam shown in 1851 census as aged 75 years.    He was living with the family, and his son Thomas Gwillim the Clergyman's Servant died in 1859 from TB.    So this William Gwilliam had parents William & Elizabeth, and his wife was Margaret Matthews.  Hopefully we can confirm with Parish Records.

Appreciate all the help you can give me, for closure on this family.
