http://www.anti-aircraft.co.uk/HAA_gun_sites_map.html has been posted on another site. A discussion on that site provides the information that Liverpool had 51 Heavy Anti-Aircraft sites in April 1941 and acknowledges that finding out where each was situated was "not easy" and that was a researcher speaking.  I don't know whether a similar map exercise has been attempted for Light AA and SL (Searchlight) batteries, I'll enquire.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Just to bear in mind that local defence of airfields was largely an army responsibility until the formation of the RAF Regiment early in 1942.

I realise that this will be of no help at all but in the fields to the south of the runway at Liverpool you can still see the remains of the brick bases of what would have been gun and/or searchlight emplacements as well as the remains, now just depressions in the ground, of several bomb craters.

Thank you Emeltom, helpful or not, I appreciate your interest. I may have pictures of the structures you refer to stashed away somewhere

Have you tried Dobinson's book on HAA Defences.  I think it has a Gazeteer of sites and may list those for Liverpool.

Second I would try the Kew files for Western Command Areas/Districts which covered Liverpool.  They often list units arriving/leaving or those in the area, including Anti-Aircraft units.
