Eleanor Porter, Norwich 1814
« on: Tuesday 16 May 17 20:44 BST (UK) »
Trying to locate a birth or Christening record for an Eleanor Porter born abt 1814 in Norwich

From 1841 to 1861 she is on the census in London - St, Pancras with her husband Joshua Page who is a Master Tailor.

I have found a marriage which fits with them at St. Brides Church -Fleet Street on 13 May 1837
Witnesses to the marriage do not appear to be of a relation but cannot be certain.

I have a death record for her which states she died in 1878 in Warrington, Cheshire aged 64.

They had three children, Emma Page, Rebecca Page (died as an infant) and Edward Joshua Page.

I would like to find a birth or christening record for her.

Also just out of curiosity can anyone advise as to why they may have moved around so much as it seems a long way to move all that time ago! and to start in Norwich then London then Warrington seems a lot!

Thanks!

Hi Jaimee

Civil Registration only began in England & Wales on 1st July 1837, so I'm afraid you won't find a Birth or Marriage Certificate for Eleanor.

Perhaps someone has access to the Norwich Parish Records and may be able to help you?
I cannot find a baptism on www.familysearch.org or FreeREG.
